Point Broadband, a leading provider of Wireless Internet services, is seeking a hands-on Network professional with 3 to 5 years of detailed knowledge engineering/operating WISP Networks. The successful candidate will assist in the deployment, troubleshooting, and management of our multi-service Regional Area Networks (MRAN)

Key Functions of This Role Will Include:

Effectively and quickly perform complex fault isolation and event correlation on all assigned network elements.

Analyze chronic network imperfections for root cause source and recommend and appropriate corrective actions. Implement fix/correction as directed.

Prepare written reports and other technical documentation necessary to communicate ideas, concepts, and details necessary to accomplish specific goals

Serve as escalation for troubleshooting, diagnosing, and repairing IP related impairments.

Perform technical training for associate engineers and NOC personnel.

Monitor and manage unscheduled and scheduled maintenance work.

Validate and review all configurations changes going into MRAN/Backbone.

Proactively/actively monitor all network related issues using all tools available.

Ability to travel to other Point Broadband markets in the Southeast region, across footprint for operational support.

Provide design and architectural support for all MRAN/Backbone network elements.

Detailed working knowledge of DNS, DHCP, and provisioning systems.

Detailed working knowledge of VoIP infrastructure and call flows.

Ability to create proactive methods and procedures for group procedures.

Bachelor of Science or Applied Science in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Telecommunications Engineering, or 3 to 5 years of experience in an ISP or WISP environment. Must have proven experience in design and turn-up of multi-gigabit transport networks (10G, SONET, etc.). Excellent oral/written communication and interpersonal skills and a customer-centric attitude. Strong knowledge with configuration of Juniper/Cisco routers, switches, mux’s, CMTS’s in an ISP environment. Strong understanding of Internet protocols and interior/exterior routing protocols (e.g. ARP, IP, TCP, MPLS, BGP, OSPF, SNMP, Multicast, IPv6 & DHCP). Excellent understanding of ACLs, prefix lists, and firewalls. Knowledge of DNS, DHCP, and IP Management. Excellent understanding and working knowledge of DOCSIS protocols. JNCIA/JNCIS/JNCIP and/or CCNP/CCIP/CCDP preferred, and/or equivalent work experience.
